The big units that sit on top of your truck bed sides. There are as tall as the cab or higher. They often have windows and can be fiberglass or aluminum. 

Will also accept “Truck Cap” as some manufactures have used this term.

Tonneau Covers 

These are the low profile or flat covers that covers your bed. They don't block your rear window when closed, may block it when open. Several flip’in and folding and rolling cover to choose from. 

Roll-Up Covers are usually soft vinyl tarp covers and will have Velcro on the sides. These are still one of the most popular covers. Some have a hard option roll-up with the look of the soft cover.

Prices start around $300 and go up over $900+ for the rugged style.

Folding Covers do as describe. They fold. These covers are also available in hard or soft variations. Some fold twice and leave a section of your bed cover. Some will stand up behind your truck window and give you access to most of your bed.

Retractable Covers roll into a canister inside of the truck bed. These are one of the most attractive styles, but you do lose space in your bed at the front for the canister. Manual and power options!

About $1500 to start and power options over $2500.

One-Piece Covers are just one extensive cover. The sides usually wrap over your tailgate, so you must open and unlock the Bed Cover to drop the tailgate. Some people like this extra security, while some think it just gets in the way of extending your tailgate. This style does give some of the best water protection.
